If investigations show the bar over-served that driver while they were obviously intoxicated, then the bar may be liable for any resulting injuries. A lot of people driving while intoxicated, especially leading up to last call, are coming from bars. Folks tend to just think of consequences the drunk driver can face, but there is often a local alcohol provider who also needs to be held accountable. Maybe evidence will show that's not what happened here, but it's important to understand the unique possible consequences that come with drunk driving collisions.
